A lovely bike ride from Alice Springs is a 50km loop down the Ilparpa road south of town, across to Honeymoon Gap, north to Simpsons Gap and back on the sealed trail.

I did this ride today in just over two hours.

Alice Springs is baking today at 40 degrees. It was a pleasant 19 degrees when I left at 6.30, but the temperature had climbed to 32 by the time I returned home.

It’s a spectacular landscape and always changing.
